Dhaulagiri Trek

Dhaulagiri Trek

Dhaulagiri is the 7th highest peak in the world. Dhaulagiri Trek is one of the challenging adventure treks in Nepal. Geographically, it is a land of dramatic contrast. The trek goes through big challenging mountain passes, crossing over French pass 5360m and Thapa Pass 5200m.  It is a challenging walk on an icy track. Dhaulagiri trek explores a remote, wild and off-the-beaten-track area of the Nepal Himalaya. Our trek starts at Beni and then follows the Myagdi Khola (River) passing over beautiful Gurung villages with terraced fields framed by views of the Dhaulagiri massif.

Dhaulagiri is one of the unique place in the world in terms of its rise above local terrain where it rises to 7000m over the Kali Gandaki gorge to the south east in about 30 km of distance.  During Dhaulagiri Trek we walk through the untouched valley of Myagdi, terraced hillsides, traditional villages which will surely fascinate you. French and Thapa passes are simply extraordinary for the everlasting memories being in Nepal for strenuous camping trekking to Dhaulagiri. Dhaulagiri literally means ‘white mountain’ which justifies a splendid peak rising as a huge shoulder of shining ice and snow. The beautiful contrast of cultures, sceneries and outstanding mountain views provides the attributes that make this one of the best treks in Nepal. The wilderness areas of the Dhaulagiri Himal, the forests and traditional villages, two spectacular high pass crossings and a freezing traverse, will more than satisfy the most adventurous trekkers. This is what makes the Dhaulagiri Trek unique one.

So now it’s the time to plan for Dhaulagiri Trek. With its extended high altitude nature it should only be attempted when snow-free, from September to December or possibly May and early June. Also March or April can be particularly unpredictable and dangerous. The Nepal Trekking Company looks forward to give its best service to the customers with reasonable price.
