Meet the Team

Santosh Adhikari

Trekking and Tour Operator

I am Santosh Adhikari. I grew up in Gorkha, where I graduated before moving to Kathmandu in 2000.

I have almost a decade of experience in hospitality and tourism. I have worn many hats in my career, from being a waiter, porter, and guide to owning and running my own company.

As a waiter for two years, I learned all the ins and outs of the hospitality sector. It taught me a lot of things but chiefly taught me to be patient and how to multitask.

Then I became a porter. I learned a lot from my colleagues while working as a porter. After working as, a porter for two and a half years, I took training for a trekking guide license, and since then, I started my career as a trekking guide.

With my guiding experience, I have been to Everest, Annapurna, Langtang, Manaslu, Manang, and Manaslu regions.

As a leader and owner of The Nepal Trekking Company, I’m excited to lead my team and use my leadership and expertise to provide each client with the best possible service.

Shraban Adhikari (Saran)

Tour Leader

With 18 years of experience in the tourism industry, there is nothing I haven’t seen on my trips. I started my journey as a porter, then guide cum porter, to now a team leader.

From providing an exhilarating experience at the end of a trek, a quiet reflection on nature, organizing administrative issues when booking a room, to providing medical assistance when things go south, I have done it all.

I grew up in Gorkha, where I received my higher education before moving to Kathmandu. Growing up in a remote area, I have always connected with nature and often went on long walks and hikes. It gave me an appreciation of nature at a young age.

My promotion from porter to now a team leader results from a lot of experience and hard work. I have done treks in Everest, Langtang, Annapurna, Manaslu, Dolpa, and Dhaulagiri. I know the best parts of these treks and know the routes well.

It is a fascinating job, and I am eager to share my expertise and make your trip the best it can be. It makes me incredibly proud to be part of Nepal Tourism.
