Overview

Everest Three Passes Trekking falls under one of the adventurous trek in Everest region of Nepal. The three high passes trek such as Kongma-La Pass (5535m), Chola-La Pass (5420m) and Renjo La Pass (5360) are the main highlights of this trek. This trek takes us through three different Everest Three Passes Trekking valley systems connected by high passes in Khumbu region on the doorstep to Mount Everest. This mystic trek allows you to see much more in the way of breathtaking beautiful snowcapped mountain during our walk and the journey is completed by visits to Sherpa villages, homes and monasteries to give you a vision into the quiet but culturally vibrant Sherpa lifestyle.

Everest three passes trekking is an opportunity to experience four of the eight highest peaks, which are; Lhotse (8516m), Makalu Mountain (8463m), Cho Oyu (8201) and the highest peak Mount Everest (8848). This trekking is designed for adventurers. This place is popular for its splendid sceneries of surrounding mountains and nature. Our trek begins from Lukla, then we will be heading towards Namche Bazaar via Phadking. As you also may know that Namche Bazaar is known as the gateway to high Himalayan region.

The highlight of the Everest three passes trekking is its three main passes which can be a most exciting experience of your lifetime. We will also have a chance to visit Kala Patthar (Indian Language) (5,545m/18,192ft) which will present you with the most fantastic view of surrounding and the closest sighting of Mt. Everest Mt.Nuptse,Mt.Pumari as well as Everest Base Camp. This is a union of adventure and ethnic Himalaya culture at its best. All along this part of the trace, friendly Sherpa people, attractive villages with great variety of culture and traditions, colorful festivals and monasteries are the most awaited things that you can see.

Details Itinerary

You will be welcomed by our representatives there at the Airport upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. You will then be transferred to the Hotel where you will be briefed about the travel itinerary. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

On the second day of the itinerary package, you will be engaged in the sightseeing tour of the Kathmandu Valley. After finishing breakfast at the Hotel in the morning, you will begin the sightseeing tour visiting the Patan Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Swyambhunath Temple and also the Bouddhanath Stupa which are important destinations for both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims. You will return back to the Hotel in the evening.

After having breakfast in the third morning, you will take 30 minutes of scenic flight from the Capital City of Kathmandu to the Tenzing- Hilary Airport of Lukla. Though the Airport is considered as one of the most dangerous Airports in the world, flight to Lukla will be full of adventure and thrill for the trekkers. The real trekking then starts from Lukla from where the trekkers start hiking from Lukla to the nearby village of Phakding. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Phakding.

The trail continues along the Dudh Koshi River the next day before climbing up the way through Himalayan Pine and Deodar, Cedar forests before the trekkers finally make it to Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is the business and trading point for the Everest Region. Namche used to be and still is an important place for trade between the traders of Tibet and Nepal. Items like salt, dried meat and other consumable and grocery items are traded in Namche since many years. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Namche.

The fourth day is allocated for acclimatization in Namche as acclimatization to the changing altitude and the environmental conditions is very important for the trekkers during the course of Everest trekking. A day of acclimatization and rest will help the trekkers prepare for the upcoming challenge in the trekking. Trekking experts suggest the trekkers to have mild walk on the day rather than having complete rest. In the afternoon, the visitors can stroll around the market area of Namche and then talk and converse with the local Sherpa people of Namche. If the trekkers are willing, they can also visit the Everest Hotel which is the Hotel situated in the largest altitude in the world. After that, you can return back to Namche and stay overnight there at a guesthouse.

On the sixth day of the itinerary, the trekkers will have breakfast in the morning at the guesthouse in Namche and then head towards the village of Thame located at 3,800 meters of altitude. Four hours of trekking from Namche is enough for the trekkers to reach the village of Thame. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

The trekkers will continue their walk from Thame on the seventh day and make their way towards the village of Marlung located at an altitude of 4137 meters. On the way, you can enjoy the views of the mountains including that of the Mount Everest, Mount Oyu, Mount Lhotse, among others. Few hours of walking will eventually take you to the destination. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

The trail further rises up from Marlung the next day and passes along several Sherpa villages along the way before finally reaching the wonderful village of Lungdeng. You will enjoy talking to the local Sherpa villagers and people along the way. It will be a nice opportunity to know and explore more about the Sherpas of the region. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

One of the important days of the trekking comes on the ninth day when you will resume your walking from Lungdeng and head towards the difficult as well as popular Renjo-La Pass of the Everest region. It is located at almost 5500 meters of altitude. It will be a difficult day of trekking as you will have to walk for more than around six hours and climb as far as up to 5500 meters of altitude. After crossing the Renjo-La Pass, you will then come back to the wonderful region of Gokyo. Overnight stay at a tented camp.Overnight stay at lodge / guest house.

The tenth day of the itinerary is meant for relaxation and acclimatization in Gokyo whereby the trekkers will relax and take rest for the day. A day of rest will greatly help the trekkers to acclimatize to the changing conditions and the rising altitude. During the day, you can also visit and explore more of the Gokyo region and visit the wonderful Gokyo Lake as well. It will be a great time for you to explore the beautiful Gokyo region of the Khumbhu region of the Everest. Overnight stay at lodge / guest house.

The next day, an early morning walk leads the trekkers to Gokyo Ri located at 5300 meters of altitude above the sea level. It will be an adventurous walk from Gokyo to the top of the peak. From the top of Gokyo Ri, the trekkers can see the magnificent views of the mountains including the Mount Everest, Cho Oyu, Makalu and Lhotse. After enjoying the mountain views, you will then descend back to Thangnak where you will be staying overnight.

Moving along the rocky terrain the next day, the trekkers will enter the valley before moving down the steep slope and chasing the icy path all the way to Cho-La Pass. This is another important day of the itinerary as you will come across another pass of the Everest region. It is a difficult day of the trekking as you will finally cross the Pass. Lowering down the stone paved path, you will then arrive at Dzongla. Overnight stay at Dzongla.

The next day, the trekkers will move further up from Dzongla to the Gorak Shep. Gorak Shep is one of the important places that you come across during the Everest itinerary. It is located at an altitude of 5170 meters and it is the nearest place from the Everest Base Camp. Four hours of trek is enough for the trekkers to reach Gorak Shep. You can also enjoy the view of the mountains from the place. Overnight stay at a tented camp.

Moving along the rocky path with splendid views of the Khumbu glacier and icebergs, the trekkers will cross Thangma Riju and advance further up to the Everest Base Camp. After reaching the Everest Base Camp, the trekkers can enjoy the amazing views of the mountains including that of the Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse, among others. After spending some time at the Base Camp, you will then return back to Gorak Shep where you will be staying overnight in a tented camp.

This day of trekking will lead us to Kala Patthar which is a popular region in the Everest best known for its sunset and sunrise view, and also the view of the Mount Everest. Kalapatthar gained worldwide popularity after former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal held a cabinet meeting at Kalapatthar to draw world’s concerns towards the problem of climate change. Indulging in the serene beauty of Everest and several other Mountains, we will make a return trip back to Gorak Shep and then all the way down to Lobuche where we will be staying overnight.

On this day, the trekkers will come across the last Pass of the region which is the Kongma-La Pass. It falls on the way from Lobuche to Chhukung. After exploring and crossing the Pass, you will then move on to Chhukung which is located at 4730 meters of altitude. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

The next day, the trekkers will walk further down to Tengboche from Chhukung as it takes around four hours. It will be easy trekking on the day as you will move downward along the slope. The monastery in Tengboche is very popular and important for the trekkers. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

The return journey from the Three Pass Trekking continues on this day as well as the trekkers will move down to Monjo village from Tengboche. You will walk for around five hours and finally reach the village of Monjo.

After having breakfast, you will have a casual stroll through series of ups and downs chasing the easy trail prior to crossing Dudh Koshi River over suspension bridge to eventually reach Lukla. After reaching the town Lukla, you will find a guesthouse and then stay rest of the time at the guesthouse resting and preparing for the flight next day.

On the 20th day of the itinerary, you will be taking a flight back to the Capital City of Kathmandu from Lukla. In around 30 minutes, you will reach the Capital city of Kathmandu and then be transferred to the Hotel. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

On the final day of the itinerary, you will be transferred to the International Airport in Kathmandu from where you will catch a flight back to your home country.
