Tamang Heritage Trial Trekking

Tamang Heritage Trial Trekking is one of the most exciting trekking in Nepal located between Langtang and Ganesh Himal. It is exactly situated at the Nepal Tibet Border where the Tibetans from China and Tibet migrated to Nepal 400 years ago and adopted Nepali origin. We can see many other ethnic tribes here. In this trekking route we can see beautiful different tamang culture, the language of tamang people,religion and daily lifestyle of Tamang community of Langtang region. The trekking is normally of total 9 to 12 days. It is a combine camping, home stay and lodge trekking package.
Tamang Heritage Trial Trekking begins from Syabrubesi from where we head up to Gatlang and Tatopani. Gatlang is a traditional Tamang village which set high on a hillside among terraced fields with Tamang settlement. During the  trekking, we can see many exciting things. We can discover the history of Tibetan ancestors. We can see the tiny wood craved houses where they live and beautiful colorful traditional dresses. These peoples main occupation is agriculture and trade. The culture is these people are virtually untouched. The splendid view of the snow-capped mountains is unforgettable and breathtaking. If you plan for this trekking, then you can plan in the month of March and April where you can see Rhododendron forests with many different species of trees, birds and butterflies, majestic waterfalls, many sacred lakes also known as “Kunda”.
Tamang Heritage trail trekking is especially for those trekkers, who would like to explore traditional and untouched heritage and lifestyle of indigenous Tamang people. During the trek you can also visit a Tamang monastery. Tamang Heritage Trial trekking is also popularly known as a land of magic. Don’t think too much. Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, Transfer to hotel.

Upon your arrival in the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, we will be greeted by a representative from The Nepal Trekking Company who will drop  off at your hotel. After checking in, we take a rest or visit The Nepal Trekking Company office.

Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi by local bus.

We leave Kathmandu in the morning for Syabrubesi, a village which is also a starting point for treks into the Langtang valley. Our journey will be on a winding road through frequent switchbacks. On a clear day we get to enjoy outstanding views of Manasalu, Annapurna and Ganesh Himal. We continue until we descend to the small village of Syabrubesi, the starting point of our trek. Overnight in syabrubesi.

Day 03: Trek to Gatlang.

Our trek starts from today. From Syabrubesi, we hike across the Goljung Village enjoying views of the Ganesh Himal, Shishapangma, Langtang Lirung and others. Gatlang is a small village on the hillside with traditional stone houses. Overnight at Gatlang.

Day 04: Trek to Tatopani.

We begin today’s trek with a descent to Thangbuche and soak-in magnificent views of the Ganesh Himal and Langtang Ranges along the way. Next, pass by the Chilime Hydropower dam and ascend until Tatopani. The name Tatopani literally means ‘hot water’ in Nepali owing to the natural hot springs there. However, the hot springs are no longer there after the earthquake that hit Nepal in April 2015.

Day 05: Trek to Thuman.

Today we trek from Tatopani to Thuman via Brimdang and Nagthali. Passing through the dense alpine forest, we reach the small Tamang settlement of Brimdang. From here, its a few hours walk uphill until Nagthali hill. Here, we enjoy the mesmerizing views of Langtang, Sanjen,Kerung and Ganesh Himal. Next, trek downhill to the Tamang village of Thuman and spend the night.

Day 06: Trek to Timure.

Day 07: Trek to Briddim.

Today, we trek to Briddim from Thuman via Lingling. Briddim is a Tibetan Buddhist village, ideally located on the lap of the Langtang Himal. Here, we visit the Dukchu Gomba monastery. In Briddim, we notice that most of the houses are built by stones and are inhabited mostly by people of Tibetan origin. Briddim in fact, resembles a typical Tibetan village on this side of Tibet.

Day 08: Trek to Syabrubesi.

Today, we trek to Briddim from Thuman via Lingling. Briddim is a Tibetan Buddhist village, ideally located on the lap of the Langtang Himal. Here, we visit the Dukchu Gomba monastery. Day 09: Drive back to Kathmandu by local bus.

After breakfast, we drive back to Kathmandu. After arriving in Kathmandu we take a rest at our hotel or stroll in the streets of Thamel, a popular tourist hub for some souvenir shopping. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 10: Departure from Kathmandu.

Our adventure in Nepal comes to an end today! The Nepal Trekking Company representative will drop us off at the airport approximately 3 hours before our scheduled flight. On our way home, we have plenty of time to plan our next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.
