Trekking can be quiet challenging if you don’t know the way to get around your health problems. One must be fit and fine to complete the exciting and adventure of trekking in Nepal. Trekking guide or your trekking planner will provide you a basic first-aid kit but just a first -aid kit will not save you from your internal injuries, so you must have a pack of prescribed medicine to help you if you will suffer from any emergency that you might face in your journey.
Health Problems You Might Face in Your Trek:
>Muscle pain and spasms, foot problems and blisters. Wearing good footwear could help trekkers to be free from such health hazard.
>Loss of energy, eye infection and stuffed on nose. Have more energy giving food and energy tablet and eye drops should be taken.
>Sore throat, cough, common cold due to the dry mountain air which may lead to chest infection. This problem can be solved by wearing mask. Smoking and alcohol should be avoided at high altitudes.
>Diarrhea, constipation and upset stomach caused by unhealthy food and drinks. To avoid it, have a hygienic and qualitative of food and drinks.
Medical Accessories You Must Have:
A simple but adequate medical kit can be very useful while traveling. The following materials are required for your journey:
>Calamine lotion to ease irritation from bites or stings.
>Kaolin preparation (Pepto-Bismol), Imodium or Lomita, for upset stomach.
>Antihistamine as a decongestant for colds, allergies and to help prevent motion sickness.
>Antiseptic for cuts and grazes.
>Antibiotics for cuts.
>Aspirin of Paradox for pain or fever.
>Rehydration mixture – for treatment of severe diarrhea.
>Bandages and band aids for minor injuries.
>Scissors, tweezers, thermometer, insect repellent, sun block lotions, chopsticks, water purification tablets, throat lozenges, moleskin, eye drops and antacid tablets.
